A SCUBA certification course is divided into three steps;
The First Step
Academic Education The Second Step is to complete your in-water skill-development pool sessions. This step of the course is where you actually get wet for the first time and learn how to perform skills in a controlled environment. The instructor will teach you how to assemble the equipment, clear a mask, recover a regulator, and additional skills every diver needs to know. This step continues until you are proficient and able to comfortably perform the skills. The Third and Final Step is complete four open-water certification dives under the supervision of your SDI Instructor. This is the part of the course you have been working towards. The instructor will take you diving, in an ocean, lake, or spring and review all the knowledge and skills learned in the previous two steps. Here you will apply what you have learned during your academic and skill-development pool sessions, while gaining real-world experience in the open water. Open Water Scuba Diver CourseScuba Diving Lessons that are Fun and Easy
This Scuba Diving course is an entry-level certification course designed to give students the necessary skills to safely conduct open water dives without the direct supervision of an instructor after certification. The course covers all the basic knowledge about equipment, physiology and the marine environment while teaching students to perform basic skills underwater. Students need to be fitted and have their own basic equipment for pool sessions, which includes mask, snorkel, fins and booties. Students are eligible for special discount pricing on equipment purchased at our full-service retail dive center. 1 877 SCUBA USA provides Free use of scuba equipment (BCD, regulator,
dive computer, weights, and SCUBA cylinder) to our students for all confined
